Legal Seafood at Logan

The trip was long but easy. Got one movie in, dinner was decent, sleep just a closing of eyes without any slumber. Frankfurt was an easy transition. Incredible airport with great food options. We had an everything bagel with salmon, horseradish and avocado? A cappuccino there and a cappuccino to take with. \2403 hours total to Malaga, then under an hour to Nerja. Janik and Lilli were waiting for us as we deplaned. So sweet. \240Had a bit of a struggle finding rhe bags as non-EU checked bags go to a different carousel. \240A passenger on our same flight was standing next to us with similar questions. \240We were the only 3 remaining at the carousel for our flight so figured the rest of the plane found their luggage and ours was lost. \240I was standing in line for lost bags when he returned from the mystery 31 area, that we had already tried, with his successful retrieval. We returned to 31 with our good Samaritan’s knowledge and joyfully found our bags sitting side by side. \240What a relief!

Easy trip to the house. Landscape is dry, dry, dry with tons of retaining walls holding up the hillsides. \240Crops are avocado and tomato. The village center of Nerja is populated with a great number of hotels and tourist accommodations.

No ability to take pictures while driving. Lots of guardrails at the sweeping, turning elevations.

Met Nico and Maria and had a tour of both houses. Built in the 1600’s. So amazing. A beautiful view of the Med. \240downtown before the house we stopped fo small \240groceries and when we can out it was hailing and pouring rain! By the time we go to the house it had stopped. \240A bit more rain but we squeezed in a walk on the hillside and watched a fabulous sunset combined with lightening.

Dinner was leftover paella and I am sure a host of sides including ham and cheese and other items I cannot remember at the moment. \240

A good nights sleep was had by all.

It is now 10/27/24

This morning was an 8:30 wake up, perfect, but then we started reading and fell back asleep until 10:30. Relaxed, chilly morning on the patio. Janik fixed delicious scrambled eggs which were served with sides of cut green pepper, cherry tomatoes, sliced avacado, bread and butter, orange slices and fabulous coffee.

A game of cribbage and the girls won. :)

Mid afternoon snacks were provide by Lilli to Janik and Pete of toasted bread fried eggs and cheese.

Called Jack and the call was better than when I’m home.

Still working on hydrating and getting systems functioning.

Everyone worked for a little while and then we took a late afternoon trip to the big grocery store which has an escalator to the parking lot.

Then off to Fragiliana, home of a 2K SM residence high up on a hill built in the 1600’s, lemon trees, beautiful, hilly streets with black and white stone designs and many many steps!

On the way back home went out for dinner in Nerja to an Indian restaurant. So good! A free shot and the end and the whiskey was actually very good.

Last night the storms continued into the wee hours of the morning keeping Pete and I awake from the endless thunder and lightening. The rain was so hard it was dripping down the swinging glass doors out to the patio. \240This morning there was even more water coming in!

The skies were yellow apparently as a result of a dust storm as well.

I got to the kitchen around 10:30 and Maria was the only one there. Janik and Lilli were still not rolling. A huge breakfast in the dining room as temps were still cold and it was a bit drizzly. Janik, Lilli, Pete and I did a late afternoon trip to Malaga for touristing and tapas. \240Lilli carried the cribbage board in her back pocket the whole time. \240A stop for tapas in Malaga which was pretty good. A change of tables because we were not all the way under the umbrella and it continued to rain. A great game of cribbage and some plates of fried eggplant with a honey sauce, some “pig”, which Lilli always orders but never wants. \240She was looking for cured pork but, “somehow pig always ends up on the table”, says Janik.

We left Malaga after viewing great boats and great architecture. Stopped in Nerja in our way home for mor tapas and a couple more games of cribbage. \240A British family was sitting next to us in the bar playing a game of cards that seemed really fun. Lots of chair dancing when the points were high.

A stunning weather day, finally. A relaxed morning, which is a given. A fabulous breakfast, again. Lils made crepes accompanied by cured ham, cheese, salami, papaya, yogurt with museli, scrambled eggs, Nutella and jam. \240Fresh espresso with whipped milk. Honestly, I don’t think we live well enough. \240

Lilli and Janik went to the market in the afternoon. We all walked to the beach. Pete and I picked up a few rocks.

Pete helped Nico move rocks and fill ruts in the driveway. Pete spent the rest of the day working. \240I did a little sink laundry, swept the kitchen and our room, aired out the duvet on the line.

Our resident gekko was in the room when we returned from the beach.

Dinner is being prepped and there will be cards for sure.

Dinner was whole fresh fish, pumpkin, sautéed spinach with leeks, potatoes and the rest I cannot remember. \240Wine and cards. So much fun! Another evening where we skimmed stealing into the next day.

Another amazing spread for breakfast. We are barely allowed to help with anything I have snuck in a couple times to wash dishes but otherwise we are shooed out to relax. \240Hung out a bit and then Janik, Lilli, Pete and I took a hike to the “tower”.

We hiked down to the beach and had calamari, some Aubrey one with honey sauce and a bottle of wine. \240Just gorgeously calm and relaxing. \240

An Old Saybrook wreck off the cliffs from the road

We are now on the patio. Nico, Maria and I played a game of cribbage to 80 with Maria far in the lead. \240Dinner is being prepared and I was allowed to cut the eggplant, zucchini and onion before Janik and Lilli came back for a shopping trip for wine and a few supplies. \240

The last two fish will be prepared with those vegetables, Lilli is making roast potatoes and I think there are lamb chops in there somewhere!

Another stunner. Sunshine, 68 with a mild breeze. \240There is some talk about going to Grenada from Janik but we are feeling cozy this morning and resistant to have a big day in the car. \240We shall see.

Nico and Maria went out to shop for \240toilet seat and Maria came back with a new omelet pan as well. :)

If we go out we should pick up paper towels and dish soap maybe?

Dinner in La Herradura at

The red wine was served with an ice pouch.

Quote from Lilli: “A day without a sandwich is not a good day”.

One final game of cribbage and glass of wine before we turned in and the kids surprised me with lemon pound cake, candles and a card. \240Tears in my eyes. \240Couldn’t love them more.
