Today we started the lectures - lots of information on Thai culture, history and politics. Was a long day but some really interesting information.

Pad Thai was actually created by a Thai dictator because he wanted to eradicate chopsticks and be more like Italy with spaghetti!

We learnt lots about the division of south east Asia, colonisation and dictatorship etc.

Lan Na - Home of a million rice fields

After class we visited the beach - not quite the Caribbean but apparently there are some more beaches further along that are nicer.

Long day tomorrow - Muay Thai, Thai language class and more culture classes.
