Left home at 10:00am

Crossed border at 12:45

Arrived at airport parking by 1:30. Got lost once 😂

Flight left on time

Landed in Vegas at 5:19 Nevada time

Took a really cool tram ride to baggage claim.

7:30am I’m wide awake praying for the day and for my girls.

11:00am Breakfast at Grand Lux

Mickie spilled her cappuccino on her white shorts😂 so breakfast was a little longer then usual.

12:00-1:30pm - Sat by the garden pool. The main pool was closed because some moron pooed in the pool 😡

2:10pm - Went to lower level of the Venetian hotel to catch the shuttle to Bolder City Airport. Some girl named Anna didn’t show up so we waited and eventually left!

3:30pm - Made it to the airport only to be told that the flight was postponed because of weather

4:45pm - Still Waiting at the airport!!!

5:10pm we took off for our helicopter ride

Landed in bottom of Grand Canyon. It was amazing!

We ate a picnic lunch with a gross ham and cheese sandwich, Pringles, cookies, and champagne

I tossed my unwanted bread to some raven and picked up a rock to take home. Pilot tells me I broke two of the three rules when visiting the canyon

Went to depart the basin of the canyon and the helicopter wouldn’t start

Finally left and returned quickly to the airport

8:00pm returned to Venetian

8:45pm we have reservations at the Wolfgang Puck restaurant. It’s called CUT. The food was outstanding. The service was by far the best.

Headed over to the Highroller Ferris Wheel. We reached the top of 550 feet at midnight!

12:45pm finally laid down to sleep

9:00 am Awake and ready to go

9:30 am - walked to Starbucks for coffee and oatmeal

10:00am - 11:30am - sat by the garden pool

11:45am packed and got ready

1:00pm - checked out of Venetian

1:15pm - notification that flight was delayed

Met Esmeralda a K9 officer. Had a great chat

Grabbed an Uber to the airport and had Maria as our driver. Because our flight was delayed she offered to take us to the welcome to Las Vegas sign. Mickie and me grabbed some sweet pics

Flight has been delayed now until 6:55 pm

7:30pm - Flight finally left

9:00am Awake

9:30 worked out

12:15pm Lunch at Tender Greens

Coffee and Chai latte at Bravado’s

Took old fashioned tram/street car (from right outside our hotel) down to Fisherman’s Wharf - walked around - saw sea lions

Talked to a bus tour lady who said could get us Alcatraz tickets, but we thought it sounded sketchy because all tours sold out for weeks and everything we read said have to have names on tickets which have to be matched to ID - so we passed

Took Uber to base of cable car/trolley 🚃 up steep hills - driver’s name Mario - from Brazil

Disembarked and walked to Ghirardelli’s - bought some chocolate 🍫- explored stores

Had supper at McCormick & _______ in Ghirardelli complex - not very good -shrimp cocktail was horrible 🍤

Ubered back to hotel - went up to restaurant bar - sat in cabana with heater - server’s name was Kain from Kentucky - he’s been here less than a month - very kind and respectful - got us blankets - Michaela had very good pizza 🍕

Back to room and lights out at 11 (earliest since started vacation)

8:00am Awake

8:30am off to get hot water with lemon

9:00-11:00am getting ready. Ordered room service and packed

11:30am took Uber to Brandy Melville

9:00am woke up

11:00am Breakfast at Bittersweet Bistro...too much food

Brunch at ‘Bittersweet’ - nice

Hertz to see if could get different car - no - so kept same one at a weekly rate - Stephanie very helpful

On road at 1:15

Passed through San Jose at 1:50- very long drive- heavy traffic

Arrive hotel Las Alcobas 4:30 - checked in - complimentary margaritas- best ever had by bartender Steven:)

7:30am - Getting ready for our wine tour 🍷

10:00am - Breakfast on the veranda. Eggs, bacon and the worlds best gluten free toast and some kind of outstanding jam.

10:30am - Nico picked us up for our wine tour and tasting. We had a private tour and an amazing limo bus all to ourselves. Nico was Greek! Fun, informative, helpful, kind. He took us to three of his favorite wineries.

9:00am Woke Up

10:30am - Had a light breakfast on the terrace at Los Alcabos Hotel

11:00am - 1:00pm laid by the hotel pool

1:15- got changed - Eric brought us our car - took Silverado road -began our journey to Golden Gate Bridge

Drove through Salcilto - sunny and pretty

Drove across Golden Gate Bridge - very cool

Took a road down to ocean - turned left and made way to #1

Began drive down coast to Santa Cruz

Went to Whole Foods - few groceries - arrived at friends to stay the night and see our daughter staying there - reconnected

Stayed night

11:00am left Santa Cruz

Stopped at starbucks

Hopped on US#1 headed to Carmel

Drove along the ‘17 mile drive’ - Monterey Forest and exclusive Pebble Beach Golf Course/ some shopping- gifts

12:30pm Hanging out at pebble Beach Golf Course

Back on highway 1 - AMAZING views - several stops to look and take pictures- saw elephant seals- drove in to Hearst Castle- tours over but looked around

Started seeing palm trees now

Back on highway - views along Big Sur incredible

Stopped in Pismo Beach- stayed at Dolphin Bay \240Hotel - very nice - Alexa very nice and helpful / got supper and wine at market one block away - pool and hot tub - relaxed on balcony - stars amazing- SOOO RELAXING

Cooked breakfast in our suite

Finished washing/drying clothes in suite washer- got ready to go

Down 90 steps to beach - VERY hot - walked on beach- Wayne toes in Pacific Ocean for first time this trip

Left hotel at 12:30

Passed Santa Maria at 1:00 on way to Malibu - taking 101 to Ventura then PCH to Malibu

Stopped in Montecito for lunch at a local market- then SB -then headed back to highway at 3:30

Back on PCH past Ventura

Thought would stop in Malibu, but no hotels that we could find - Malibu one long stretch of highway - houses on stilts - big amazing houses on hills

Beautiful beaches and waves go on forever 🏄‍♀️

Continued on to Santa Monica - stopped at Lowes Hotel - great room and rate by Josh - awesome guy and very helpful:)

Walked along beach by Santa Monica pier and Rosanne toes in ocean for first-time this trip :)

Supper at hotel - perfect view of lit up SM pier from terrace balcony🎡

Fish tacos 🥙, salad, and chicken skewers - yum- server Damien great guy and great service

Started our day at Lowe’s hotel, Santa Monica

Walked to starbucks for oatmeal

On our way at 11:00 am, took 405 to 5

After Ventura went back on PCH 1 - spectacular scenery again along coast

Gorgeous beaches 🏝, waves at Huntington Beach (and everywhere along coast)

Arrived Pacific Terrace Hotel, San Diego 1:30 pm

Room was ready - great helpful staff, luggage in room, bathing suits on and right to beach - so nice - chairs, umbrella, and towels from valet

Back to pool to hang out - cheese and fruit 🍉 board with tortillas and great salsa 😋

Concierge hooked us up with a steak restaurant ‘Cowboy Star’ - very, very good steak

Back to hotel - walked around the neighbourhood- ‘Duck Dive’- local bar - long, Iong lineups - all millennials -

Funniest sign at a Brandy Melville store to ’leave the seagull alone because he's just hanging out’ - and there was a seagull that wouldn't leave and just kept looking in the store 😂

Walked along beach again before bed

8:30am Awake and getting ready

Ate breakfast at the hotel...food was cold and the experience was less than stellar

9:00am Woke up and headed for breakfast at Pacific Terrace, it was less than well done

9:30-10:30am Swam in the ocean

10:30-11:45 Got ready and packed

12:00 called for bell hop and took luggage to our car

12:15pm all loaded and headed to India street looking for a phone case. No luck, the shop moved

Had a cinnamon, honey coffee at some coffee shop! Best coffee ever!

1:00pm ate lunch at Tender Greens downtown San Diego

1:45pm headed to San Diego airport to the hertz rental place - slick check in system - all digital

Flight on time - smooth - best touch down ever

5:45pm arrived in San Jose airport

Picked up our rental 🚙. A brand new Range Rover...white! Took some getting use to

Headed off to Santa Cruz. Took a little detour into the west valley field mall in San Jose. Grabbed a starbucks and a yummy gluten free pizza; haiwian style

Went next to Safeway for some water and booch

On the road again to Santa Cruz

Drove directly to the boardwalk in downtown Santa Cruz.

8:00am Woke up and starting packing and getting ready for the drive to San Jose airport

Stopped at starbucks for oatmeal and coffee and snacks

Headed out in our Range Rover for San Jose Airport 🚙

1:50pm Plane departed on time for Minneapolis

7:30pm plane landed in Minneapolis Airport

8:48pm just leaving Minneapolis Airport for Detroit

12:45am Arrived in Detroit Airport. Flight was about an hour and was uneventful

deplaned and headed to luggage terminal

Find our luggage and headed to find shuttle to big blue parking. Shuttle driver was nice and helpful

Took awhile but we found our car. The car was in one piece. Loaded our luggage and headed to pay.

Turns out that we needed to use the same credit card to get out we used to get in, that was fun 😂
