After a rocky start, we arrived via Southwest to our Secrets Resort. 6 days and 5 nights of relaxing, good food, Aperol Spritzes and great company! Our first trip together with Tom and Paula - had a great time. They sure showed me how to relax.

This destination was hot and sticky so we spent quite a bit of time hopping in and out of the pools. There was almost no breeze which was nice. The red flag warning days were due to the currents so we didn’t spend much time in the salt water.

We did make use of the facilities - ate at most of the restaurants, did yoga twice - once in the water and once in the pavilion. We also kayaked one morning. Next time individual kayaks!

The dream resort (family friendly) was next door so we also had the use of their restaurants. And we had the concierge tower which allowed us to have food and our own bar. And of course it included room service so we had coffee and things delivered every morning.

Upon arrival we were given a margarita as we stepped out of our car.

At the entrance

So our only real hiccup was the definition of a hot tub. This is what they consider a balcony hot tub. I call this a jetted bath tub.

We arrived a few hours before our travel mates so they wanted tequila shots - became our drink of choice that night. Did a few more than normal - Don Julio respisado was quite tasty.

Cheers!

The beaches were not really \240made for walking. Although the beach in front of our hotel was sandy - it \240was brought in as the rest of it was giant rock and very difficult to walk on. But we did get to take this picture.

So the food was good and normal size portions! \240We ate at the buffet for breakfast but ate our main meal at the speciality restaurants- a hibachi grill, Bordeaux - the French restaurant and the Mexican restaurant. Obligatory food pics included.

We took an Uber down to the market and the boardwalk. It was super hot so we didn’t make it long. And no restaurant had ac.

But we got great pictures!

As it starts, it must end. We relaxed and finally caught a great evening sunset.
