Barcelona

So we woke up to it raining outside and we checked the weather and there was a high chance of rain all the way until 5pm, so that ruined our plans for the day :( but it was a great day anyways! We went to brunch at Billy’s Brunch and I just wanted a regular American breakfast and it was so good! Every time we order we don’t know what to expect when it comes to us because it has all been so different. I got the scrambled eggs and bread with a side of potatoes. The scrambled eggs came on top of the toast, so so good! After brunch we went back to the Airbnb and watched a couple of movies (it was nice having a relaxing Sunday- felt like what I would do at a Sunday at home, sit on the couch and eat snacks haha) then we left to go to the Barcelona Soccer game around 4:30. I don’t think I mentioned this within the last few days but the taxis are on strike because Uber is currently illegal but they are trying to make it legal and the taxis don’t like that idea because it will take business away from them so they all went on strike and parked their cars in the middle of the street on one of the main streets in Barcelona. I’ve never seen so many parked cars on a street, it went on for blocks upon blocks. Since no taxis were driving we had to use all public transportation which was pretty busy because that’s the only way people could get around. But then we went to dinner at a futball bar and it was really cool because it had soccer flags and scarfs all around the walls and ceilings. We got ciders and nachos then we went to the game but the gates weren’t open, we thought the game was at 7pm but it was actually 8:45pm so we went to a different bar and got another cider and then went to the game! The stadium was so big and so cool! It holds around 93,000 and it’s the biggest stadium in Europe. Messi is their best player (who we got the jerseys for) and they just randomly chant his name and when he scored a goal everyone in the stands bowed down to him. (He makes soooo much money it’s insane) but overall super fun experience, so glad we went!
