Took the long way here. Left yesterday and stopped overnight in Lake Charles to break up the drive. Went to eat sushi of all things - it was so super fresh and yummy. Nice bridges on the drive.

Stopped by the Oak Alley Plantation, but alas not to be. No dogs allowed even in her sling and to cold to leave her in the car, so onward to the Kimpton. Maybe next time. View from the outside.

And a nice drive past the Joseph plantation.

First night shenanigans - drinks at the bar. Right drink/wrong place was the name of that martini.

One of many trees - hotel lobby

Upgraded to the presidential suite - feel like a princess - over 900 square feet, 2 giant rooms with a dining table that seats 8 and two bathrooms with a giant 2 person tub.. Watched the sunset before we headed out for our first evening of fun.

Canal street in the freezing cold - no one out and about!

Always hard to pick a favorite spot or eat at the same place twice here, but…Mr Bs Bistro - pear cosmos are our favorite as is the food.

Bacon wrapped shrimp and grits.

Grilled fish and great sauce.

Light display at the Roosevelt.

Amazing! \240

Out to midnight! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve - see what kind of Shenanigans we can get into then 😂

Christmas Eve! \240

Brunch at the hotel followed by hotel lobby lighting hunt.

Quinoa bowl with tomato jam and avocado. Light and yummy.

BLT Lousiana style. Applewood bacon rules.

First stop was the Ritz Carlton - this ceiling was amazing! And Missy was a hit.

I could use one of these in my house.

Gingerbread cable car - how cool is that! side view.

Front view.

Interesting vending machine!

Downstairs on the way out. Lovely.

And Missy’s first walk on Bourbon street. Old absinthe house - many memories, but not a stop this time.

Windsor Hotel lobby. Rated number 3, but not my favorite. They did have lots of poinsettias though! \240

The wish tree. Kinda cool.

Last stop of the day before heading out to our Revellion dinner. Bar to ourselves….crème de mint and cucumber martinis.

And here we go…these dinners are the best!!!!

On the way home. Tree on the river in front of Jackson square and then a quick stop At another favorite - Crescent Street brewery. They are known for their red stallion beer, but I opted for a poinsettia which is champagne and cranberry juice.

Home to our little Missy and sleeping in on Christmas Day :-).

Sleeping in this morning and then a visit to the gym - good for us! Went for a stroll before lunch - on the hunt for more hotel lobbies with trees and lights.

First-up was Hotel Montelone - nice entry display.

And nice chandeliers.

Second favorite was Royal Sonesta - row of lighted trees and poinsettias.

So nice that Missy got to enjoy her second barstool seating.

Brunch at the hotel - where else can you get Pimento cheese with Okra? \240And Aperol spritz.

Had to have a nap and then drove through City Park for the light show. Hard to get good pics, but here a couple of cute ones.

And last meal here - good old Creole food.

Chargrilled oysters

Medley of gumbo, red beans and rice and jambalaya.

And the upgraded 925 square foot presidential suite upgrade - Merry Christmas to us!!!

Bedroom with TV and large desk.

Master bath with huge tub and shower and two sinks.

Second bath

Living room

Dining room for 8.

Princess feeling for sure.

Until next year!
