Leaving the home port for the last time on a falling tide, our first destination is Salt Spring marina for a few days to get into the spirit.

1
Salt Spring Marina

After a windy crossing yesterday and a rainy afternoon we finished the day off with some friends for after dinner drinks.

Today plans are going to the bakery, repackaging some stuff and fluid check in the engine room, and off corse relaxing.

Plus having after dinner drinks with friends off course

2
Montague Harbour

Better than expected weather today still showers but also sunny breaks. Left the dock early afternoon to go to Montague harbour, short uneventful cruise.

Lots of RCYC members at anchor in the bay.

The party started shortly afterwards great evening.

Day of the circle raft lots of fun a great event can highly recommend

3
Mill Bay Marina

Exciting morning today as a wake-up call the wind came up and the anchor dragged, so we decided to lift anchor and head to our next destination Mill Bay for a visit with friends.

Captains passage was very angry easily 6 to 8 foot waves very short stacked. Stuff flying everywhere, first lesson of this trip don’t think because you are in inside waters weather doesn’t matter and second lessons don’t leave before everything is secured.

It got better in the second half of this leg. Arrived safely in Mill Bay and tide up at the dock and spent time for cleaning and fixing stuff.

Had a great visit with friends too

4
Pirates Cove Marine Provincial Park

Better day today. Left Mill Bay at 8:30 to go through Samson narrow’s at slack water heading towards Nanaimo. It was a rain on rain off kind of day.

Good company cruising and at the end we decided to stay in Pirate cove for the night, where we meet Nauti Girl already at anchor.
