Aloha! My name is Paloma and this is my daughter Rossandra. We hiked up Makapuu Point today. This beautiful hiking spot is located east of Waimanalo Beach on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. We arrived around 8am on a weekday. Parking is free. If you make it early enough, you will find a spot to park. Weekends are busier, so it might be a challenge to find a parking spot.

My uncle’s memorial service was a couple of days before and I wanted to spend some time remembering him. What better way than to hike up this beautiful paved trail? \240Surrounded by the Aina’s majestic and breathtaking views of the ocean. I really felt he was there with us. The island breeze hitting my face. The beautiful rays of sun sparkling across the ocean. Shining like diamonds across the vast body of water. I took it all in and said my aloha’s to him.

Pslam 43:3

“Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!”

It is a moderately easy hike. Great for a family hike with the kids. Don’t forget your essentials! Sunscreen, water, snack or even a lunch if you plan on going midday. The views are absolutely stunning. The green and blue colors of the water and mountains are spectacular. My daughter always says, “It looks like a postcard!” This hike really does look like a postcard, honey girl!
