Home

Just got back from Tucson with my Sisters of other Misters. Six wild women took in a comedy show, Chonda Pierce, Still Laughing Tour at the Fox Theater in Tucson. It wasn’t exactly what I expected. The first half was very funny but with a definite religious flavor. That I could handle. But the second half turned a little sour. First they passed the “collection plate” which consisted of pamphlets of children to sponsor in a third world country. If they had asked for a one time donation I could handle that (and most likely would have thrown a $20 in the plate. But what they were asking for was a $38 dollar a month commitment to sponsor a child. Whoa! This was a comedy show and I had paid $60 for a ticket to be entertained. Perhaps they could donate that to the kids? They followed this request with an hour and a half sermon (ok-there were jokes in the sermon) and a few political references. Again, whoa! I wanted to run out the door and spontaneously combust. These were not even my religious beliefs. Apart from that, the trip was delightful. My friends were there, the room at the Best Western Royal Sun was very nice and shopping in Tucson the next day with Sher (and test riding recumbent trikes at Ajo Trikes was a blast.

Loki goes to Lowe’s.

Loki and I went on our first adventure since training at Sit Means Sit. He came with me on an excursion to Lowe’s to pick up a few things for the house. I (of course) was a little apprehensive but all in all he did fine. I was a little awkward trying to use the training collar and hold everything but I’m sure it will get less awkward the more we get out.

Happy 41st birthday, Carrie!

Having coffee after a ride to Bisbee. Did the loop up Hwy 90 to Hwy 80 then stopped. Home by Hereford Rd. Nice little ride with Cindy Millea.

Tompkins Park

This is the first day I’ve been able to walk both Loki and Archer with problems or incidents.

Yesterday I went to Tucson with Sher Stoops. We went to her Doctor appointment first, then shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond where I bought some dishes for the Motorhome.

Aren’t these adorable?

Afterwards, another trip to Ajo Bikes for a test drive on a Catrike Villiager:

Of these two I will choose the Villager for affordability and there wasn’t enough of a difference to choose the Dumont.

Also, we changed our lunch plans from Sweet Tomatoes to the Red Lobster. Probably not the best idea. It was yummy but not very healthy.

Chiricahua National Monument

Bugmaggedon

The insects are out in force and many of them met an untimely death on my windshield today. The picture doesn’t do it justice. What a mess!

So today we went up the mountain to a very special (and beautiful) place.

I rode up with Dave Sturges. We started out at \2409:30 and I pulled into my driveway around 4 so it was a full day of riding. Only stopped for Lunch.

Couch Potato Day

Yep, that’s all.

March 22-24th

Yuma in the Motorhome

First trip in the Desert Gypsy from Sierra Vista Arizona to Yuma Arizona (315 miles)

The trip down was great. The DG purred like a kitten with the normal amount of Motorhome noise rattle in the back. The scenery was spectacular desert with lots of Saguaro Cactus and I was a little too apprehensive to stop on the inadequate side of the road to get pictures. But when I stopped for gas in Gila Bend I did get these ones:

Got to Judy’s hotel about the same time she got home from work. Perfect timing 😊Then a cocktail before heading out to the Casino for Seafood Buffet with Kathy Wallace Wells. Yummy! Ate crab legs and prime rib and got uncomfortably full. Then I watched Judy and Kathy lose money at the slots. I lost a whopping 2.50.

Saturday Judy and I went to the Harley Davidson dealer and shopped for Judy’s next Bike. Then back to the hotel to swim and sit out by the pool. That made us sleepy so Nap Time! Then dinner at 5 Guys and bed.

When we got up Sunday we had breakfast and I started back home. The drivers side window bit the dust. The chain broke 🥴 So had the window down all the way home. Oh well, shit happens.

Arizona on the way to Tacoma, March 27-28

Court for mom’s trust

Wendy was nice. (She often isn’t) People are basically nice. It’s a challenge sometimes in these stressful times to understand what others are going through. But it’s a choice whether it will make you bitter or better. There are far more news stories on the stresses. Gunman in Seattle killed two people close to where my friend Sheryl lives. It was all over the news this morning when I got up but when Sheryl, Denny and I had dinner last night, several of her friends checked in on her. And a bus driver wounded in the event was a hero who, while shot, had managed to get all the people on his bus to safety. This morning after I returned the rental car and got on the bus to the airport terminal, the bus driver gave a running repertoire of facts and observations to keep us entertained. So many would just do the job stoically but this guy went the extra mile. I bet this guy is one that chooses to be happy.

On the flight incoming to Sea-Tac

Dinner at Azteca

Always a great time and lots of laughs with Sheryl and Denny.

Group Class with Loki

I really need to get him out more. I hurt my knee over a month ago and every time I walk for a while it freaking hurts!

But I can’t go back on my commitment to get him more exercise so today we went to group class. Since dogs are very much like perpetual three year olds and I haven’t been home much lately, he let me know his displeasure by being a total pill. He wouldn’t listen to me at all! How embarrassing! But it was really embarrassing when Sam pointed out that I’d forgotten to turn on his training collar.

Dinner at Olive Garden last night with the Sisters. Always a great time with awesome peeps!

Everyone needs a sisterhood ❤️

Loki had surgery to remove the lump on his shoulder. It’s probably just a fatty tumor but still sending it to the lab to check. Keeping good thoughts and sending energy and love to my boy. He also got a dental while he was under to that’s an added bonus.

Ready for Bike Week!

Washed the Harley (Cinnamon Girl) and got her ready for Bike Week. Heading out at 9:00am!

Here at Kenny and Chris’s. Nice dinner at Four Peaks Brewery.
