Punta Arenas, Magallanes, Chile

There is no doubt that the journey to Chile’s southern most point is long. \240But the flight from Santiago to Puntas Arenas is stunning. \240

The landscape is dotted with snow capped volcanoes and lakes and with the ocean on the horizon ...

I was getting excited by the blue sky and started to believe that the forecast was wrong... then about 45 minutes outside of Puntas Arenas we flew into a thick never ending cotton ball. \240We will have to see what happens next....

The haze of Santiago cleared just in time to show off some mountains.

First perfect cone in the Chilean lake region.

Starting to roll into the clouds.

Eek... what happened to the ground?

Glacier!

Just about to land.... I am guessing that this is the Magellan Strait.

And this is just the start .....
