On our way! Alpine wine and beef festival here we come. Small Texas towns always have their own vibe. Last time it was good so hoping for the same this time.

This was our driving day, so just planned on driving and eating dinner. Realto was where we ate. Nice place and good food.

Chicken topped with blue cheese crumbles tomatoes, onions and balsamic - surprisingly good.

Stopped in for a drink across the street from our hotel - steak and pizza with a nice bar and friendly bartender- Spicewood.

Since the wine festival didn’t start until 4, we drove the 30 minutes over to Marfa for lunch and to tootle around. Again, big disappointment- I don’t get the draw :-). But…. We did do the cheesy drive to the Prada building.

Went to the Chinati Foundation grounds first. What a waste of time. Concrete clocks was the art. Winds were so bad we just sucked up the entry fee and left.

Art?

Next drive on down 90 to the Prada sign

New wall murals along the way. Kind of fun - music playing from a solar panel - it is the desert so lots of sun!

And here we are! \240Any Texan knows what this is!

Went back to Alpine to visit the vendors and have a few nibbles. Main Street also has many galleries so we wandered through looking at the art.

Our VIP lounge.

The evening ended at the concert - one band from Austin Spicy Loops followed by Feline Fox. Rather small event, but we enjoyed it.

And then the 1 mile walk back! Nice full day.

Ready for another fun day in Alpine. Went to their farmers market - bought some cool sandals as I finally had to let go of my Greece sandals. We wandered around a few shops, found some cool murals and called it a morning.

They have lots of murals throughout the town.

Really liked this one.

Random alley.

Always gotta take a picture with the wings.

Went back for a nap and then on to round two. Back to the festival and our wine tasting class. Was kind of fun and learned a few new things about wine.

Our nibbles with our wine class.

Taking copious notes.

2nd tasting and Diane in her cute outfit.

One more concert and then made our way back home.

Good time, but one and done!
