Stunning views of the turquoise water below us...so excited to get there

December 14th,2019 .

Day 1: Exploring the hotel properly a bit before lunch..Anushka loved watching all kinds of fish and sharks in the underwater tunnel/mini aquariums.

In the evening, we met two locals :Raquel and her husband Marvin through the People to People program that’s an initiativeby the Bahamian government. On signing up, we’re paired with a local so you can learn more about the culture and maybe explore areas or restaurants that we would have otherwise not have heard of...

They took us to a local area called Fish Fry which is also frequented by tourists..

We tried the famous conch salad which is basically conch with some onion tomatoes peppers etc...it was super fresh and refreshing

We tried the local drink ‘skyjuice’. It’s a combination of coconut water ,gin and condensed milk.Very interesting combination but didn’t want another one 😂

One of the kiddie pools

She totally loved the water slides

Loving the kiddie pool area

They have pools with fish that we can from some tunnels

Shakey- shakey bridge

We spent the morning at the Atlantis, at the pool and the rides..Anushka had a blast again at the kiddie slides ..Sankalp explored the scary rides which I definitely didn’t want to even try. However, I did end up going on one ‘jungle ride’ which was slightly less intense

We met Raquel and Marvin in the afternoon...they showed us some houses owned by the crème de la crème..Sankalp got a chilled beer to drink in the car 🤷🏻‍♀️

We went to a local beach for a bit,had some coconut water and coconut followed by going to the downtown where we walked around and picked up some delicious rum cake..Next stop was some yummy froyo.

Finally it was dinner time and we went to a restaurant recommended by Raquel which was a short walk from the hotel. We tried the seafood platter- Super yummy and fresh food

‘Leap of Faith’- It was the steepest slide over there, the tunnels at the end were in a shark pool. Was a good one!

After a \240little early morning walk around the aquarium followed by breakfast in the room ; We headed to the local beach close to us : Cabbage beach...it’s known for its white sand and turquoise waters.. we hung out there for a bit but decided to walk along the beach towards our hotel ...we got the lounge chairs and were total beach bums enjoying the sun, sand and the pina colada’s in coconut ..Anushka enjoyed the coconut water too🌴

We headed back to the hotel late afternoon, had some lunch and decided to go watch a movie ‘Dora and the Lost city of Gold ‘ in the theatre in the hotel

It was Anushka’s first movie experience in a theatre and it was so much fun..she was so emotional watching the actors on screen get emotional..but thankfully we saw the whole movie and she had an un forgettable experience

There’s a Bahama bowl happening here the day we head back, but all the teams (Buffalo bulls and Charlotte 49ers) were here for it .

We saw some Junkanoo performance for their event..it was also fun and a bit nostalgic seeing the University of Buffalo flags and jerseys around.

We then went to the very acclaimed restaurant Nobu enjoyed some fine Japanese food.Anushka slept off within 10 min of entering Nobu, so we were able to peacefully savor the food

Another day of beach bumming...this time we went straight to the beach by our hotel

It was a nice lazy morning -afternoon : Soaking up the sun followed by a deep tissue massage at the beach

In the evening, we went back to the Fish fry area at a popular restaurant called Twin Brothers to eat some more of the conch salad and the local favorite: fried snapper and the dessert Guava duff (Spongy, soft slices of guava-spiraled dough are served warm with sweet butter rum sauce in the classic Bahamian dessert, guava duff.)

We started our morning in shallow waters with dolphins. All of us got to learn, touch and play a little with the dolphins, such smart and adorable creatures!!

We then hung out at the pool by our hotel. Turns out that \240Sun, water, pool service with mojitos and Bloody Mary at 11 make for a very good day. Some lazy river laziness followed and eventually we made our way to the marina to grab lunch which was followed by a long long after noon nap. For dinner we went to one of their acclaimed restaurant \240Fish to have some seafood for a last day before heading back.

We sent Anushka in the kiddie center for some activities while we went to the Casino. Some days luck shines on you and it was one of those we won a hundred dollar playing roulette and then enjoyed the afternoon by ourselves and a couple last drinks at the island before picking up Anushka and going to a happy hour for a couple of really nice cocktails followed by BBQ dinner.

Our last day in the Bahamas...it was still super windy, which meant that we couldn’t enjoy the pool one last time.

Anushka, with some other kids \240fed some of the baby sea creatures- sting rays, baby sharks and turtles .it was so much fun watching her

En route home, we had a long layover in Philly..we decided to make the most of it and stepped out for dinner at The Bourse Philadelphia which like a food court but with nice restaurants where you can pick up food from.
