Today I visited one of the beautiful wonders of the world, Stonehenge, however we had a journey before getting there. It started off nice and early just like always, it’s really starting to catch up to everyone, we’re all like zombies at this point lol. A bus came and picked us up from the college at 9 and we met our tour guide for the day, mark who was an archeologist. We then headed on the bus for over and hour to head to the town of Bath. Everyone napped on the bus, it was completely silent. We then arrived in Bath and holy cow I have never been so cold. No one was dressed for this weather or even brought clothes on the trip for this type of weather. I reall regretted not wearing my new jacket. A couple people ended up buying a jacket or warmer clothes and changing. Anyways we had a quite condensed tour of Bath which is beautiful and I would definitely want to spend more time here. We saw the famous owls around Bath, the assembly rooms, Abbey Bath and much more. Once the tour ended we had 1.5h of free time. Everyone first ran into the place that was offering free fudge samples and it was so so good that Chiara and I had to buy one to share. Definitely the best fudge I’ve ever had. We then went into Bath Abbey which is so beautiful with all of history and glass stained windows. We then headed out to a restaurant and I had hummus to start and a avocado chicken sandwich on fresh focaccia bread with sweet potato fries. It was almost time to meet up with the group once again once we finished our meal but since it was so cold out we decided we needed a hot drink for the bus. Luckily Starbucks was right beside the restaurant so I was very happy when I got my first pumpkin spice latte of the season. We got to the bus just in time. It was then about another hour to Stonehenge. Chiara and i decided to watch the notebook on her phone while on the bus. We then got to Stonehenge and got the little machine to listen to the history of it and jumped on the shuttle to take us to the actual site. Stonehenge is beautiful, you walk around the stones and then surrounding you and the stones are fields of sheep. It was nice as it wasn’t too crowded today, even the door guide said it was quite unusual for it to be that quiet. After walking around, listening about the stones and taking hundreds of pictures for about an hour we jumped back on the shuttle. We got off and looked around in the gift shop and then Tara and I got a deluxe got chocolate to split for the road. It was so good, not chocolate, mini marshmallows, real whipped cream and a flake bar on top, you can’t go wrong! It was about a 1.5 h bus back to Oxford. Chiara and I finished our movie and then just chilled on the bus. By the time we got back we basically just had to run up drop our stuff and run back out as it was time for dinner at everyone’s “favourite” restaurant Bella Italia... I mean it was good the first time but 4 times with basically the same thing, and it’s a far walk, everyone is just kinda over it. Anyways we had our garlic bread, pizza and vanilla ice cream and then back to the room it was for sleep. However Chiara, phoebe and I decided it would best to do laundry tonight rather than tomorrow cause it will probably be busy. We ran down to the machines on campus and threw our stuff together, split the cost, threw in a tide pod we had from home and went to our rooms to wait an hour before switching it to the dryer. By the time everything was dry it was 11:45. However, THE TIDE POD RUINED OUR CLOTHES! Stuff was either tinted green or had green spots on them we were so mad. It must’ve been the washer. Chiaras new yellow aritzia sweater was green and my pink anti social social club sweater had green blotches. We stayed up trying to figure out how to get these stains out but couldn’t get it. Eventually we gave up for the night as we were so tired our brains weren’t functioning. Anyways today was just exhausting and I can’t wait to hit the hay. Night night.
