Friday

We took a Lyft to the airport around 10:00 am. Thankfully, our flight left on time and we landed in New York around 1:00. I worked at the airport while we waited for our flight to Belgium, which left around 6:30 pm. Here is our itinerary of flights for the summer 😳

We had to wait about an hour to take off once we were boarded since there were so many planes waiting to take off at JFK, but we were happy to have a smooth flight! It was only 6.5 hours to Brussels once we were in the air. Rob and I downloaded the last 2 episodes of Stranger Things season 4 to watch on the plane.

Meanwhile- Clark stayed with my parents since he was still in the first 5 days of his COVID positive test. I brought him a Lego set before I left and this is him after he built it 😊

Sunday

Got up at 10:00 am! Had breakfast at Cafe Leopold and walked to the Royal Museum of Fine Art. We wandered around the city and saw beautiful gardens, buildings and streets.

We went back to the room in the afternoon and took a nap. (The room and the bed was sooo nice!). We went back out around 5:30 for dinner and had a great dinner at Baladi (hey Syraian restaurant). The food and the drinks were both amazing… Rob’s pomegranate iced tea was especially good !

Monday

We started the day with breakfast at the hotel. It was great! The juices were excellent!

Rob ran out clothes over to the laundromat and we watched Netflix in our room while we waited 😊

We took the train from Brussels to Amsterdam around 12:30

Tuesday

Wednesday

Last day in Amsterdam 😕 We really enjoyed our visit. The weather was AMAZING!

We walked to get coffee at a little café next to a church.

Rob loves having his picture taken! 😘

Then we came back to the room and got ready to check out (check out was at noon) and made our way over to the train station to catch our 1:15 train to Bruges! I’m very thankful for my amazing travel planner who brought our train tickets ahead of time and navigated us through all of these cities with ease 🥰

On the train!

Video of us on the train to Bruges 😊

Once we got to Bruges, we walked to our hotel, Hotel De Castillion. It was a very cute hotel!

We grabbed dinner at Degastro, which served HUGE cuts of steak!

Walking around after dinner ❤️

Thursday

Started the morning with breakfast at our hotel. The breakfast room was beautiful!

Rob outside of our hotel ❤️

One of the beautiful churches we visited in Bruges

We went to a brewery for lunch and got beer, hot chocolate and a charcuterie board while I beat Rob yet again at Sagrada 😜

We found a nice bar by the laundromat and had a couple of drinks while Rob did our laundry 🥰 (he’s the best!!) After that, we had dinner at Garlic and Greens, which is a vegetarian Indian restaurant. Service was a little slow, but the food was good!

Friday

We slept in (got up between 9:30 - 10:00 and went to get breakfast out in the city

We headed over and took a canal tour! We had to wait a little bit on the boat in the direct sun but our boat thankfully was not packed to the gills like some of the other ones were 😊

Video of some of the tour!

Saturday

Last day in Bruges 🥺

We slept in, checked out at 11:00 and headed out to finally try out some authentic Belgium waffles! Turns out, I like the “Luikse” type the best … it was denser and sweeter. But they are both great!

Video of the bells playing “Be Our Guest” 😊

Sunday

We got up at 6:30 am, grabbed a little bit of breakfast at the Residence Inn buffet and walked to catch the 7:20 bus to the airport. We barely made it! We were proud of ourselves for catching the bus - other people were waiting at the hotel for a taxi, but there were no taxis to be had and it was going to be over an hour wait 😳

Rob booking it to the bus in Brussels 🥰

We packed light for the whole trip! This is all we brought (Rob’s backpack is stuffed into his dark blue duffel bag)

The flight left about an hour after it’s scheduled time, but it was a smooth flight and we were surprised about how great the food was! Our hearts went out to an older mother and daughter we met at the airport- the mother had an emergency appendectomy (on her birthday!) while on vacation. They were flying home only 3 days after the surgery 😩

We got into New York and Rob worked his navigating skills and we took the air train to the Jamaica Station, and then took the train to Penn Station. From there we walked to our hotel (The Edition in Times Square). I was feeling pretty travel weary, so I was so thankful to have Rob to follow 🥰

We were very happy to be in our room after a long day of travel. And the robes were AMAZING!
