Great first night dinner in Austin (Wednesday) with kid in my frat Latham and his Girlfriend Cecilia at Aba Restaurant, incredible Mediterranean food.

Aryeh first time ever having salmon!

Post dinner pic!

After dinner we met up with this random girl and her friends

Thank god we got her out of the pic

Next day I was somehow able to wake up at 10:15 (Aryeh failed to) and I walked Austin’s river trail with our old nanny Taylor who lives in Austin

Aryeh and I checked out the Texas State capital building, bigger than the one in DC!

Damn sexy!

Thursday night we went to one of city’s best sushi spots, Uchiko, where Aryeh had sushi for basically the first time! He had salmon, yellowtail, and more!

Jacob was to get away from work last minute and join us!

After dinner we met up with the kid in my pledge class Latham. His girlfriend’s friend Talya was hosting a small thing by UT.

Afterwards we went to 6th street to a bar where Aryeh was desperately trying to keep up in this dancing game

After a fun night, and checking out Austin’s famous nightlife at 6th street, we went the next day to explore UT campus.

The whole day I was desperately trying to find us a Shabbat dinner. The Chabad rabbi at UT was away and connected me to the young professionals chabad of Austin. That chabad was having a Sheva bracha and the elders there said we couldn’t come due to covid concerns. So I said Rabbi isn’t there anyone who can host us?! And so he wrote in some groupchat and someone responded and the rabbi gave us his number. I reached out, and had no idea who these guys were, but we ended up going over to them for Shabbat dinner and it was a highlite of the trip. Turns out they went to Frisch/SAR and are 24ish, we all have like 100 mutual friends with them on Facebook, and incredible ruach. We later went out with them, and even went out with them Saturday.

Saturday we had a full day with Taylor, our old nanny. We went to Yoga with her, texmex for lunch, and then later on went to get drinks to dinner to more drinks.

After our texmex lunch she dropped as off at saba M’s son Jason’s house where we talked with the whole family for an hour, nice to hear what’s happening with our austin family! Kids are so cute!

Pic from our Saturday dinner with Taylor

Sunday we left for Houston! Picked up a car from Hertz (which we’ll drop off in Dallas in 4 days) and left for the 2.5 hour journey

On the road we stopped at this store Buc-ee’s which truly was a highlite of my trip. This store had everything! The best fudge, and brisket sandwich, and banana pudding, and roasted nuts, and jerky it was honestly insane. Stores like those with so many incredible options just get me so pumped! I even wrote to the chain (39 of them now mostly in Texas) founder to go tour the management office and meet with him, so epic.

Here I am enjoying one of the many things we got there

Checked into airbnb and dinner with cousin Kayla and Noah and Misha Berry and brother Peter! Top quality banter!

Next day I woke up to play tennis with Misha and Noah and their coach, high quality tennis! Noah is incredible playing at Cal Poly, and Misha is also really good playing at Cal Poly as well next year.

Lunch with Paul Hirsch. Met him and Peter Hirsch at their office (see below) and went to In and Out with Paul and Aryeh.

Shopping with Noah, Peter and Aryeh at famous Houston Mall!

Dinner with the Goott’s!! Miriam and Markie were also here but left a bit early so Markies big exam the next day. Such amazing family we have here!

Lift to finish off the day. Pic came out really nice, we’re not this strong! But am improving
