yesterday, june 8, we woke up at 3 am to go on our biggest and hardest hike of the trip, at the grand canyon. based on the fact that we are from ohio \240we were obviously not used to the terrain but it made it that much better. we went on the bright angel trail on the south rim and it’s something i will never forget! we went over 1600 ft down into the grand canyon to the 3 mile rest stop within the first hour in a half knowing it should take double to get back up, and i’m so great full that we hustled down. it took us 4 hours to go 6 miles through rocks steps tunnels etc.! i hate heights so it’s you can imagine i was terrified the whole time. i swear my bad hips could hardly make it but whenever i saw a resting point i really hustled to get there and take a long fucking break. i can’t wait to go again in 4 years when me and audrey graduate high school and college!
