Arrived in KL, Malaysia around 5am. Took off from Sydney Airport at 11.30pm, 30mins after curfew! We were nervous we wouldn’t take off but alas we did and arrived excited.

KLIA fast train to Bandik selengat station and then hopped on the metro trains to Plaza Razat, where we walked about 1 km to our accomodation - The Robertson residential apartments. Arrived at about 7am.

The Airbnb host didnt send us the pin to get our card pass to get into the apartment. We were tired and smelly and just wanted to get showered and fresh. We dropped our bags with the security and went for brekky and a coffee and tried to keep spirits high.

At around 830 we got the pin and left the cafe to go up to the apartment 32-05.

The accomodation was a big score. 1 queen, 1 couch, and there was a big pool on lvl6 and a jacuzzi (also big) on lvl 42.

We all showered and relaxed for a bit before Zanz and I went into town in search of a tourist information place to find things we can do, and we left Lawson to snooze (didn’t sleep on the plane) We went via the petaling street market which was interesting. We said we needed to come back at night.

We wandered on and found the central market, which despite the name was less happening than petaling street. The temperature was through the roof and we were hot and hungry so we stopped by a 7-11 for some food and drink.

We tried again to find tourist information but no luck, so we headed back to the apartment to get Lawson and plan out the rest of the day.

We went for lunch across the road (not the best) they had good fried noodles and we ended up ordering 3 lots of it.

On our way home we saw some chicken getting cooked in a restaurant next to our apartment. Despite just having lunch it looked too good to miss, so we grabbed a box, a 6 pack (6ie) and headed on.

Jesus that man knows how to cook chicken! It had a firm grip on Zanz and I and we didn’t leave the box once we started and until it was done. Lawson had some but was less impressed.

It was time for beers and we got changed into our swimmers and headed up for rooftop beers in the jacuzzi. We spent the rest of the afternoon chatting and drinking and laughing until the sun had set. I did do a quick drop off back to the bottle for another 2 6ies. We went downstairs to our room, got changed and went back to the chicken man for more chicken.

This time we got sauce and naan to go with. HOW.GOOD. Another 6ie for the road and we were back at the petaling street. I bought a bumbag for 20 MR (Gucci), sunnies 25 MR, and a silver necklace 130 MR. Conversion is about 1 aud = 2.5 MR.

We were a little drunk and having a great time pumping each other up.

We went back to the apartment, with water and ice cream for the road (cream on).

1st day was a great success.

WEATHER: Sunny + hazy

Roses: : rooftop beers and chicken man

Thorns: not having the pin in the morning, the heat and mugginess.
