We started with a Thai Language class today - apparently we both have sieves for brains!!!! We found it harder than we expected! The Thai teacher was really good and hopefully after using some Thai out-and-about it’ll stick! There are 5 different tones they use which makes things super hard.

Some basics;

(females put ka at the end off each sentence, males put krab)

Sa wat dee ka = hello

Sa baai dee mai ka = how are you?

Kob kun ka = thank you

Kor tord ka = sorry/excuse me

Puut chaa chaa noi ka = speak slowly please

Gam lang riam paa saa thai ka = I’m learning Thai

We then went to a Muay Thai lesson, which is a Thai form of boxing. It was really good fun and worked up a sweat! The rest of the day was more Thai culture, learnt lots more about the monarchy and Buddhism.

We’ve been set our first assignment; to research 3 types of teaching methods and to put together a presentation/discussion for Monday. So this evening we’re making a start! Hoping our sieve brains aren’t such sieves in this topic!
