We made it to Rockport! Had to stop at Dairy Queen on the way down.
Most of us (7 of the 9) are helping a woman named Suzy work through her house and decide what to keep and what to donate to other organizations. Her late husband was an Admiral in the Navy and passed away a couple of months before Harvey hit. So much of this work is emotionally draining for us. We canβt imagine the emotional toll it is taking on her as she decides what sentimental items to keep.
The work that we are doing will help her become eligible for other financial assistance use to repair the interior of her house.
Hereβs an update from Rockport after serving on Saturday.
We had a good day of serving in the community and spending time together. Here are some pictures from today.
