Happy’s first overnight trip. We met Tim at the cabin to work on some maintenance. Happy doesn’t like wash board roads but nothing rattled lose. We found level parking right away.
Jeff and I dicovered how comfortable we could be sleeping on an 8 inch foam mattress and have never had such a good night’s sleep in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. We were so comfortable, we choose to sleep another night.
We met new neighbors from Boise. Treated the logs with deck coat and fixed the chimney.
It took 10% of our battery to run an electric heater for an hour. We decided that a diesel heater needs to bump up on our priority list of things to add to the van.
On our way out, before dawn, we let a truck pass us just after we left the driveway. A minute later he was clearing the road of a fallen tree. I’d like to think he was a guardian angel making sure we had a safe trip home.
Parent’s Weekend WSU
Made it to Pullman at 4:30pm after frantically getting the van road ready. Our heater was installed during the week by Derick and we got Happy back Thursday night. I threw in a cabinet for the cooler and drawers with a work surface rapidly Friday morning. Our projecter and speakers were up and running but we needed to buy an HDMI cable in Pullman.
We found a park side spot and stayed there the full weekend. A short walk to Starbucks, Anna’s dorm and the stadium made for perfect boondocking experience.
Let’s see how fun vanlife can be. We discovered Harvest Host and stayed at a winery in Walla Walla.
This was Xallie’s first trip. We all had to learn how to be 3 in the van. Xallie sheds when she’s nervous.
Jeff and I had yummy drinks and food at Safron. And breakfast at the Maple Counter.
A quick trip across the boarder to an Oregon liquor store and up to Pullman for the marching band show and dinner out with Anna.
