Halfway done with our travel day! Only a couple flights left to go before the official Honeymoon Shenanigans begin! 🥰

Had to take a cute tourist photo of course 😝

2
Moncofa

Our first day and a half was spend in the beach town of Moncofa, Spain. 🌞🌴

The water was absolutely beautiful and WARM! 😌

Angel’s dad made us authentic Spanish Paella that was absolutely delicious 😋

Mercat Central, Ciutat Vella, 46001 Valencia, Spain

Day 3 in Spain consisted of Breakfast of Churros and Coffee, followed by a stroll through the Central Market. And a trip to the Oceanographic Aquarium in Valencia! 😋

The dome in the Central Market

Fun Fact: The Oceanographic is the only aquarium in the world where you can see the Juvenile stage of the octopus!

Finished the night with some INCREDIBLE gelato!!

4
Minori

Day 5 of our Adventures was well spent exploring the little town of Minori, Lounging on the beach and eating some delicious food!!

Sipping our Cappuccinos on the pier while we took in the views 😍

One of my favorite things about Italy so far is the fountains! And that they are clean drinking water!! So cool

Our Lunch consisted of Pizza; Sarah got the Margharita, and I got Mortadella E Pistachio

After Lunch Sarz chose to take a little siesta; so I took advantage of the extra time and hiked the 5 mile (basically a stair climb) Path of Lemons!! It was gorgeous

Got offered a little cup of homemade lemonade so I obviously said yes!

Dinner was INCREDIBLE, the waiters were so friendly and wanted to know where all of their guests were from and the vibe was just perfect! Sarah got lemon & Pesto Ravioli, and I got lemon linguine. We both obviously got spritzes and limoccello shots to finish🙃

We of course finished the night with some treats from Sal De Riso; Tiramisu, Lemon Delight and a Pistachio Lava Cake😋

Positano

Today we got up early a ripe 7:15a (That’s early for us for the last few days lol) but we ventured to Amalfi Town to embark on our half day boat tour around the coast! But first since we had some extra time we stopped for cappuccinos and cornettos and explored some of the sights of the city :)

Pistachio Cornetto, Sarah got a Dark Chocolate :)

Amalfi Duomo

View of Amalfi from the Pier😊

Once our boat picked us up we set out towards Positano!

Kissing Elephants Rock!

Fun fact: Couples used to use this as their wedding venue and then jump off after saying I do as a symbol of jumping into life together :)

Devils Cave, when the wind blows through the cave it makes a sound like the devil’s whisper (hence the name)

Sipping Prosecco 😉

Fiordo di Furore; the only natural Fiordo in Italy

Limocello shots after our second swimming stop😊

The gorgeous town of Positano

Villa Romana e Antiquarium

The ending of day 6 was filled with beach sunsets and a gorgeous dinner under lemon trees at Ristorante Giardinello 😊

Tempura fried zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta, and herbs with a tomato sauce

Ricotta gnocchi in a pesto and anchovy sauce

Panchetta and red onion wood fire pizza

Trevi Fountain

Started the day at 4:45am to head off for our next destination of Rome! We started our time off at the Colosseum and Roman Forum with a tour! It was absolutely spectacular, felt so surreal to be inside of the stadium and to see where the slaves, gladiators and emperors sat/fought,and worked.

What’s left of where the Emperor sat during shows

A marble piece of the top of the original colosseum wall

The alter of the goddess Roma

After exploring through ancient Rome we set out for the downtown area and visited some of the churches, and sights.

Basilica di Santa Maria Sopra Minerva

Sant’Ignazio of Loyola Church

Obviously had to get some gelato while viewing the Pantheon

Galleria Sciarra

Trevi Fountain

Virgin Mary Statue

It started raining and the streets cleared so I took advantage for a picture:)

We got absolutely downpoured on while exploring!

8
Vatican City

We started the day off at Castel Sant’Angelo right when it opened at 9am so we practically had the place to ourselves just immersed in the history of the massive Castle.

Ponte Castel Sant’Angelo

We learned that this room was the home to the ashes and bones of fallen Emperors

Arch Angel Michael

Views of the Basilica from the Castel’s Terrace

Panoramic Rooftop

After the Castel we made our way over to Saint Peters Basilica, and wandered through the rooftop before making our way into the Basilica which happened to be at the time of a holy prayer which was so cool to witness. We even got to walk through the Holy Doors since it’s the year of the jubilee ;)

Of course our last stop of the day was the \240Vatican and Sistine Chapel. Which was just Awe Inspiring to say the least every time we turned a corner there was something else that just left me saying wow.

The end of our long day of deep diving into Roman History was well spent with a trip to Piazza Navona and Antico Forno Riscioli for some pizza by the slice, and then some 9pm dinner of some of the best food I think we’ve had this entire trip🤤😲

The Fountain of the Four Rivers

Supplí Cacio e Pepe

Lasagna and Gnocchi for dinner😋

9
Castel Sant'Angelo

Last day in Rome; we’re sad to say it as there is still so much here we haven’t seen and would absolutely love to see. But we will certainly be back!

We started the day off at 10:30am and grabbed our cappuccinos before making our way over to our rooftop wine tasting and cooking class which was AMAZING!! We lucked out with a super cool group of 6 ladies who were taking their niece/daughter to Rome for her graduation before they send her off to Culinary school they were probably the best group to get to do this experience with that we could have gotten.

Sarah’s favorite wine was of course the Rosé while mine was definitely the Merlot😝

We made Fettuccine Alfredo - Believe it or not that gorgeous white sauce was made with literally just pasta water, Parmesan cheese and butter😲

Our cute little Tiramisu’s!! They were delicious 😋

After our cooking class we spent some time wandering around the streets and revisiting a few places we sort of skipped over when we were rushing around trying to find other things. We found out that the Spanish steps are currently closed because someone \240drove their car down them and they had to call an archeologist out to inspect the integrity of the steps before they can reopen them! CRAZY

I have been trying all the Pisachio Gelato’s since we came here and this one was the best one i’ve had thus far! ;)

Neptunes Fountain

Caught the Pre Sunset at Ponte Castel Sant’Angelo

We ended the day with a Ghosts and Dark Mysteries tour that was very educational, we learned that the square in front of Castel Sant’Angelo was used for most of the Public Executions throughout the centuries and is said to be the most haunted place in Rome! So cool!

Santa Maria dell’Orazione e Morte - to the right in this photo

The church in this photo houses bones from after the river Tiber flooded and the brotherhood was sent to collect. They are now used as decoration within the church. 🤯

10
Piazza del Duomo

Today we made it to Florence, and jumped right into the history and the art!! We started at Galleria Academia where the David statue is held

Following the David we made our way to the Medici Chapel, which has all sorts of ancient relics relating to the historical family and many other historic people of Florence.

Michaelangelo was hired to create the crypts for the Medici family, and these are two of the pieces he completed for the chapel.

Our final planned Museum of the day was the Duomo Cathedral, the coolest part about it was the underground section that actually happens to be the original church or more so the frame work of the church. There is still the original mosaic tile floors and many of the foundations.

After the churches we roamed around to try and find some of the other sites throughout the city before we took another Ghosts and Crimes tour (this time obviously for Florence)!!

The famous carousel plazza

Palazzo Vecchio

The Neptune fountain in Palazzo Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio

Super cool Cinema Book store that I found!

Church of Santa Croce

Michaelangelos Crypt

Galileo’s Crypt

After a long day of exploring and traveling we spoiled ourselves a little with a fancy dinner; we started with an artichoke flan, could not tell you what was in it but it was absolutely amazing! Sarz got a Coke with some potato ravioli in a truffle cream sauce, and I got a Chianti and a florentine steak with black truffle. 😋 (no pictures because we were too excited to eat it)

11
Uffizi Galleries

Day 12 we visited the two most popular museums in Florence the Uffizi Gallery and the Pitti Palace + Boboli Gardens, we didn’t take many pictures in Uffizi because we were just absolutely blown away by the art while we were there. We most enjoyed the Botticelli and Michelangelo sections, and just stared at each piece with mouths agape😂 But the Pitti Palace was it’s own kind of awe inspiring experience, the fact that one of the most influential families of Florence lived here was just crazy, they had a massive room simply dedicated to being a drawing room for one of the Medici’s wives🤯 The Boboli Gardens though were also just amazing, there was a koi fish pond and just miles of trails throughout the gardens with statues and separate sections for different gardens, you could wander through it for hours I swear.

12
Viareggio

Wellllll we missed the beach so guess what, we went to the beach hehe. We hopped on a train at 9:30 this morning and headed to Viareggio to spend our day there under the italian sun, dipping our toes in the salt water and just chilling. It was perfect, so glad we decided to take the day and just relax.

After the beach we got some burgers (Sarah of course got a chicken burger because she doesn’t like ground beef🤦🏼‍♀️) because this American needed some meat and it HIT THE SPOT😋
