After a 12 hour flight and some excruciating back and shoulder pain, we got in to our Hotel at 4am. Got a taxi from the airport at 6 and waited around in the lobby until it was light, where we had a little explore around Mexico City. I was amazed by the sheer size of the place (as seen from above in the plane and when walking about). Also some of the buildings in the historical centre were amazing, beautiful architecture. Met a guy called Fernando in the main plaza and we agreed to go on a tour with him for the next day. For dinner went to a Mexican Buffet which might have been the worst scran I’ve ever had, got out of there ASAP and with prayers we weren’t going to wake up with the shits and/or vomiting everywhere. Early night, which was very much needed as we were all knackered.

Got up early to meet Fernando outside our hotel and drove towards Teotihuacan. Saw the 2 pyramids there which were really impressive. We also stopped off at the Plaza of Three Cultures on the way and learned the background behind that and Fernando told us some stories. After seeing the pyramids we went and got some tacos and a beer, and wow the food was a much welcomed change from that of last night- some of the best food I’ve had in a long time and all for just a few quid.

Eventful day. Went on about a 20k+ round walk all over Mexico City and saw some really cool sights, but the legs were certainly hurting after.

Woke up at 7:45 after going to sleep at about 4am to watch United beat Leeds 4-2 on some very dodgy wifi and a dodgy stream, but got the dub nonetheless. Was very tired/slightly hungover. We visited the Templo de Mayo, old Mayan temple ruins. Was pretty interesting but the lack of sleep didn’t make it the easiest, and the museum that followed was even harder.

Walked around the Centro Histórico again, and we went to the Skyscraper which provided some pretty unreal views (also briefly visited again in the evening).

Got the bus to Puebla slightly hungover and tired. Was a close shave to getting to the coach after the Uber to coach station took ages to arrive, so we ended up leaving it and running/taxi-ing to the station.

Got to the Hostel and met the 1 other girl staying in our dorm with us 5 boys, felt for her😭. Absolute jeeeeuccck though.

Walked around Puebla which is a beautiful city and saw some of the sights and got tacos for lunch and crepes in evening.

Went to Cholula and saw some of the old ruins and Great Pyramid of old civilisations and went to the museum. Got a nice view over Puebla from the top of the old pyramid, which now more resembles a hill after earth overgrew it following the Spanish colonisation.

Got the coach to Oaxaca, was around 6 hours so slept/read my book on the way. Got some nice views.
