Today we arrived in Marrakech.until we got here I thought it was spelt Marrakesh - I guess you learn something new every day!
We were picked up from the airport and transferred to our Riad. I’m glad they took us door to door or we never would have found it hidden in the back streets. When we arrived we were given biscuits and I had my first taste of Moroccan mint tea.
You can tell by the look on Rick’s face that he really needed it!
The Riad was beautiful with a lovely open courtyard in the centre.
The room had a 4 poster bed and a separate living area.
And the bathroom was hammam style.

We headed to the square in the middle of Marrakech for an early lunch overlooking the city. It’s the first time I’ve been on holiday somewhere you can’t have a pint with your lunch.
My first real Moroccan tagine!
The square was a hive of activity with people eating and shopping.
The view over the city was beautiful with the snow tipped Atlas Mountains in the distance.
