Hi, we’re Lynn and Marlena

We’re a couple of Alaskans who live full time in their RV with their two dogs. We’re not retired or independently wealthy. We still work to pay the bills, but we have managed to live full time in different RVs for more than 13 years. We started our adventure back in 2001 when people in their twenties didn't really take off to live in an RV. We sold almost everything we had and went South for the winter in an old beat-up travel trailer that barely made it down the Alaska Highway. It started as a way to get out of Alaska for one winter and ended up being a five year way of life. Up and down the West coast in the winters and back to Alaska for the summers.

After those first five years, we thought we would do the responsible adult thing, and we purchased a fourplex in Anchorage. It turned out to be an eight-year stress filled disaster. Owning and trying to make a go of a run down and formerly neglected four-plex in the middle of Anchorage was not working. The economy, the money pit of a building, and our unreliable tenant’s rent checks were not making our lives better.

In the RV, our lives had been simple, allowing us to save the money to – as it turns out – unwisely purchase said money pit, but also to travel and see new places, meet new people, make lifelong friends and be happy. The decision, in the end, was obvious – go back to being happy. So for the past eight years, we've gone back to that simpler way of life.

We’ve gathered a lot of experience through the ups and downs of the RV lifestyle over the years. How to keep things simple, live and work in small spaces, all while having the freedom to see new places, meet new people, and spend most of our time together rather than apart. So we thought we'd set up this website to have a place to talk about the places we see, the people we meet, the ups and downs that come with living full time in an RV, and how we’re able to make money and pay the bills while keeping our home rolling down the road.

Hopefully, you'll come read about some of those things here and be inspired to try living a more simple life, see new places, meet new people, and have your own adventures!
