Paris

We traveled an hour and a half more than we planned due to an airplane delay.

Landed in Paris after a 9.5 hour flight. Took the train to Gate du Nord, then transferred to the Metro and got off our stop in the Marais.

Our host was waiting for us at the gate - the conversion of 100+ apartments from an old French mansion.

The place is on top floor (6ieme), with lots of light and beautiful rooftop views including the Notre Dame, Pantheon. It

We unpacked and started our walking tour in the light rain that eventually became more than a little light.

Walked to grab coffee at Fringe, then proceeded to the Seine and Isle Ste Louis, Notre Dame. Stopped off in the huge Marais shopping center, came home for a quick change of clothes and umbrella.

Made our way to the creperie place Breizh Cafe Le Marais where I had a goat cheese crepe and Brian had the bacon, potato, egg one with salad on top. Finally a quick stop at the G20 Supermarche for some groceries, then came home and want to bed

Started our day at noon due to jet lag. Still feeling those effects, we grabbed coffee at our place. Walked to a Boulangerie for a petit repast. While not amazing by Parisian standards, my croissant and Brian’s quiche did the trick.

After a 30 minute walk, we made it to the Pantheon. We even got a picture in front of it, taken by a young kid who was with his grandfather.

Upon entering, we purchased 2 audio guides, English for me and of course, French for Brian. Wandering around for 2 hours or as long as my frozen fingers could stand, we left and grabbed a bite at a cafe nearby. Escaping a huge downpour and even hail, we noshed on a chèvre salad and a sugared waffle. Warmer up and ready to go, we hit up a few bookstores. The The first was the famous Shakespearean bookstore after realizing they didn’t have any books in French we left for the recommended company. Four books later, we headed back towards the Seine, bought some melatonin at a pharmacies, and then went up Willies Wine Bar.
