The kaito (small ferry), which brings people from Sai Kung to the port of \240Kiu Tsui Beach and Hap Mun Bay Beach (Half Moon Bay). The travel time was just short ride from Sai Kung pier, around 15-20mins, round trip cost is HK$40/person.

On-board the kaito, getting the feel of the fresh breeze!

Arrived at Kiu Tsui Beach. We had picnic lunch at the beach!

Our first beach together! Yay! 🐶 I didn’t know if Markie knows how to swim, he was afraid, but he tried it and was surprised that he could actually swim! 😊

He’s not acquianted with the beach waters yet. He was quite scared at first 😅

You can go to Sharp Island only when it’s low tide. The island is connected to the two beaches of Kiu Tsui and Hap Mun by a natural tombolo, which is only visible/walkable during low tide.

The crystal clear water of Kiu Tsui beach. We had to wait for the waters to recede before we could go to the other side, Sharp Island. We attempted with the waters still a bit high, but we can’t proceed, so we just swim in the beach first.

Sharp Island’s picturisque vista with its clear waters and stunning view. The waters in the tombolo has not fully receded yet, but already walkable, so we were able to walk on the other side already!

The crystal clear aqua blue/green waters with differen hues of stones of this island is just amazingly beautiful!

After walking the natural tombolo, this signage of the Sharp Island would greet you. This is where the hike starts.

The hiking trail of Sharp Island. At first the trail is a bit steep, Markie had to stop when the trail is too much for him, as if a hint that he wanted to be carried, lol 😂

After the short hike of the small island, this greeted us — the other side of the island!

It has a lot of rocks since its part of the volcanic rock region of Sai Kung, thus its part of the HK Unesco Global Geopark.

Markie was too tired from the hike 😅

More rocks...

And crystal clear waters!

Our group enjoyed this part better than the main beach. It was stunning, good decision that we went here!

The crystal clear waters mirroring the colorful stones. There are sharp stones, thus we were careful walking in the waters.

Stunning view of this part of the island!

Different hues of volcanic stones

Going to this seemingly floating big rock was a challenge because of the pointed rocks underneath the waters, but it was worth it!

Priceless view! Just amazing!

Reflections...

Last group pic before we leave this part of the island. We enjoyed this place a lot!

While we were enjoying the waters, the little guy gave up with his tiredness and fell asleep on us while we were swimming, lol 😂

Sharp Island entrance and exit. There is no other way but to hike back the same direction, and trode the natural tombolo again.

The natural tombolo with the waters fully receded, which means low tide is officially on.
