Yoder's Amish Home

Today we started our year long adventure.

We decided to rent out our house, put all our possessions in storage and travel around the US in our travel trailer.

The goal is to visit all the 47 National Parks in the Continental US and if we get chance visit Alaska.

It has been an emotional and stressful road getting to this point.

Wrestling with the best thing to do for the family, physically trying to get everything ready to leave.

Today the journey began.....

We arrived at Yoders Amish farm in Millersburg Ohio.

Lucas and Layla found about 20 cats, a field of goats and a bunch of horses.

We are boondocking and luckily the weather is fantastic.

Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA Holiday

A day with highs and lows!!!!!!

Today we are in Cuyahoga National Park.... our first National Park in our home state of Ohio!

Very beautiful with loads of forests, rivers and we went to see Brandywine Waterfalls.

We also managed to find a network of caves and ledges in the National Park. The kids climbed everything and did some cave crawling.

The disaster to hit us today was related to the washing machine! It is a far cry from my lovely old front loader, but beats the sink!

After 2 days I had to some washing!!!! We had a discussion with the kids about wearing 3 sets of clothes a day!!!!!

We set the washing machine off and then the drain hose fell off and flooded the camper!!!!!!

All good now, fixed the hose and we are ready to roll.....

Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Rough start to the day.....

The kids took a little while to come around this morning!

We got to see some more of Cuyahoga National Park this time on bikes!

Layla and myself road tandem.....

The kids got their first stamps in their National Parks Passports.

Layla also decided to bring a new style to the world of bikes....

Weko Beach Campground

Made it to Weko Beach and camping lakeside!

New campsite, new state!

We had a long drive today but arrived at a great campsite and have settled in nicely. The only challenge is there is sand everywhere..... and after an hour the kids have it all inside the camper, I do not think it will ever be able to be removed!

Layla running up the never ending stairs....

Sunset on the beach

Not all Unicorns and rainbows on the road.

Started the day off at

Ford (Fix Or Repair Daily!) with transmission problems on the truck. I do love my truck but sometimes it tests me!!!! Stay tuned to find out if it was a quick fix!! \240

We went to the beach again, and hit up Warren Dunes State Park that was unexpectedly cool with some huge sand dunes. Highly recommend it if you are out this way.

Sand, Sand and then more Sand

Today we headed to the newest addition to the National Parks System Indiana Dunes National Park.

I would say it was interesting with the huge dune “Mt Baldy” and seeing all the dunes on the side of the lake.

However we also went to Warren Dunes State Park and I think this was more fun for the family, it was more private and we actually got our own dune to watch the sunset. The kids and the puppies all had a blast.

Now trying to mitigate the sand!
