We have only been here for three hours, but I am in love.

Andrew and I had a little fight on the train to the airport. Felicity was hungry and screaming and I wanted to give her the only food we had, chocolate- Andrew did not.

The flight was beautiful. The nice Lufthansa flight attendant move us so that we could have two rows of seats to ourselves. What a difference space makes!!! Felicity and I played w

Yikes! A rough start to the day. I didn’t sleep well at all, the bed was tiny and smooshed against the wall. I couldn’t even half roll over without falling out or bumping into the wall. Then Felicity was ready to go at 5:45, but the sun doesn’t rise until 7:50!!! Yikes.

We headed out around 7. We walked in dark Barcelona toward the Cathedral of Eulalia. (La Sue?). We found a little bakery for breakfast as the sun was rising.

Then we kept walking to get to International Mass at La Segrada Familia. For the first time since Assisi we all went to Mass together. Felicity lasted all the way to the Gospel! Then right before communion I got to sick I thought I was going to throw up. Gabriel and I ran out of the cathedral and met Andrew and Felicity outside. I think I got the stomach flu that Felicity must have had four days ago. I thought she just threw up because she ate too much!!! We walked to a chorro shop and got Gabriel and Felicity and Andrew chorros con chocolate. Then we walked toward the Picasso museum. I was feeling so awful I took the bus home. I fell right asleep.

Andrew and Gabriel and Felicity came home and I tucked Gabriel and Felicity in for nap. I was feeling much better so Andrew and I just chatted the whole nap time away. It was extremely pleasant to just talk.

When everyone woke up we headed down the La Rambla to the Place Güell. But the street food smells made me so sick I needed to take a taxi home and sweet angel Gabriel accompanied me. He held my hand and really comforted me when I thought I was going to be sick. He truly is the sweetest boy.

We went to the store and got a 7up. Felicity and Andrew came home. I nursed Felicity to sleep then watched a silly Princesses Switch Christmas movie. Ugggg the stomach flu is the worst. Luckily I have the best family!!!

Andrew was very kind and switched beds with me so that I could sleep and recover. So I slept in the big bed with Felicity in her crib. It was a wonderful sleep. The best I’ve had in months.

Felicity woke up around 5:45 and we had the coziest nursing time. Then she decided she wanted to go into the living room to read books (although it’s just a bunch of magazines and an Alladin book in Spanish - good thing I know the story so well :) ). I closed the door to Andrew and Gabriel’s room in hopes that they could get a little more sleep, but Felicity quickly tired of me and wanted to play with Gabriel so she knock knock knocked on their door :)

We got ready and headed out on wander. It was very drizzly! We went to La Rambla again and headed toward the ocean. We saw the Columbus statue. The we walked to Citudella park to play on the “Lonely” Woolley mammoth. We saw the beautiful fountain there, then headed for the xocolate museum. We stopped at a grocery store to get some 7up. My tummy was still not right.

The xolcolate museum was fun. Gabriel and Felicity really liked that the entrance tickets were chocolate bars :) It was very nice to be in out of the rain (it was coming down heavily at this point).

Then we started our walk back to the apartment. There was a kids clothing shop that I wanted to visit while Andrew went to get lunch (food smells were still making me quite nauseous).

Then we played at the apartment for a bit and I put Felicity and Gabriel down to nap. Then I headed off to my massage at Aire. I got there a bit late (spent too much time looking in shop windows - then got a little lost in the beautiful winding streets so got a taxi for the last ten minutes of the walk!).

The spa was AMAZING. The best one I’ve ever been to. I had forgotten my swimming suit so they let me borrow one. I went downstairs and at first was a little worried because it was hot and humid. But I got into the tepiderium and when I got out and was wet actually had goosebumps! They called me for my 45 minute massage after about 20 minutes. My massuse was very kind. I liked how it was a pretty open massage area, you could see all the other people getting massages but it was still private enough and very peaceful. After my massage I floated in the salt pool - the floatarium and tried the other pools again. I drank some amazing sweetened peppermint tea. It was SO relaxing. Most of the lighting was from candles. For a moment I stood there and felt like everything was perfect. I didn’t have an ache in my body. I was in beautiful Barcelona. I have the sweetest children and husband and parents and siblings and friends. Wow. Life is good.

I showered (with their L’Occitane products!) and headed out to meet my trio. We met at La Boqueria :) Then we went to a chorro cafe. I decided to be adventurous with my tummy and enjoyed some chorros. I think Andrew enjoyed the “con chocolate” part the most (it was very dark chocolate!) and the Crema de Catalan (kind of like creme brûlée) Felicity just liked dipping. Gabriel liked that he got a whole order all to himself. I just loved being there.

Then we walked to the Canaletes Fountain to get a drink to ensure that we come back to beautiful Barcelona!

We stopped at a mediocre tapas place (my tummy still wasn’t quite ready for it) then grabbed a few empanadas to make sure that Felicity ate something before bed.

I nursed my sweet girl to sleep. Then sweet Gabriel and I played a Picasso memory game. Then sweet sleep again in the comfiest bed!
