We arrived at BKK at 6.00 am in the morning, the airport was empty and we made it really quickly trough visa requirements.
We then took a cab 🚕 to go to the hotel. Before getting into, you have to ask for a ticket at a machine and it attributes you a driver. Next to the machine there was a lady in charge, we told her where we would like to voy and she told us it should cost approximately 400THB. Once we arrived to our driver, he told us it will cost 600THB (negotiation was starting!) and we finally made it for 400THB. Funny story was once we were on our way to our hotel, the guy stopped on the high way because he didn’t actually know the location we gave him, he didn’t have internet, so we had to use our google map to drive us through his city !!! Catia was next to him to show him the way !!
Once in the hotel, we just changed quickly in the bathroom and we let our backpacks in the concierge room. We installed our e-sim card and we’ve decided to start the day normally, even if we did not sleep in the plane, in order to not suffer any jet lag (advice : once in the country, just put yourself in the local Time, doesn’t matter what).
We have been starting by visiting the grand palace and the emerald bouddha (entry fee 500THB/pers.) you have free English tour at 10.30 and 12.30, we have been waiting for it but the guide didn’t really well speak English, it was difficult to understand and the info we’re not that interesting. Tips : took the audio guide (100THB/audio guide).
