Barcelona

Woohoo warm heat here we come! Today I travelled from England to Spain. It all started in the beautiful dark at 5am, ahhh don’t I love early mornings, NOT. Anyways we all got up at 5 as we had to have all of our bags packed by the front gate at 5:45 ready to go. We got down and luckily they had made some ready breakfast bags for us to take on the bus. It same simple a juice box, chocolate croissant, banana, etc but it tied us over. By 6 am we were off on the bus. The bus ride was over an hour and everyone just slept. No one spoke a word. We then got to the airport which was really busy for being that early in the morning. Once checked in we all went to a little cafe quickly to grab some warm food. We were supposed to board our flight at 9:05am yet didn’t end up boarding till just over an hour later. We ended up flying with vueling airlines and it was not my best experience I’ll say. The flight was super hot and the seats had zero space, you didn’t even have the option to recline the seat. I mean I guess it also didn’t help that we were row 38 on a flight with 40 rows. Anyways the flight at least wasn’t long so I just listened to music and kept dosing in and out. We were so excited to arrive in Barcelona. It was so warm and we stepped off the plane, little did we know the airport was also 30 degrees with no air conditioning. We got to the customs and ended up standing over an hour in line in the dying heat. Keep in mind all of us are in leggings and long sleeves or sweaters as Oxford was freezing. By the time we got our bags and onto the bus everyone was just done. We then arrived at our new hotel for the next leg of this trip, travel lodge Poblenou. It’s a super cute yet very basic hotel, everyone was just excited for real beds and pillows! We got our new room mates and I am sharing a room with Chiara which should be super fun as we had requested to be together. Due to all the delays everyone was hungry and tired so we all ended up ordering Uber eats for lunch. Chiara and I got these açai smoothie bowls with granola, berries and banana and they were to die for! After some time to rest it was time to meet the group downstairs. We all walked over to an all you can eat buffet, Fresc Co. honestly the food wasn’t great but at least it had a giant salad bar which is what I ate. After dinner Nic took us around on a quick walking tour at night of Barcelona. We saw the beach, the little fair and there was a night market on the street right beside our hotel. Chiara and I ended up buying caramalized peanuts, I mean once you smell those things you can’t not buy them. Anyways it has been an exhausting day and i can’t wait to go shower and get ready for bed now.
