August 21 - We left Severn, Md and headed to Scranton, PA for the night on our way to Thousand Islands. We stay in Shady Rest campground for the night. \240It was on the side of a big hill. \240Cute place, nice people ran the place. Enjoyed talking to them. \240Had lots of tree cover. \240They also provided cable TV which was nice. Had a nice dinner at Bingham’s restaurant, good pie for dessert.

August 22 - packed up and left for Thousand Islands. \240The roads in PA were horrible. Lots of bumping round in the RV. Once we got to the NY line \240it got better.

Thousand Island campground was good. The one thing I did like was that we found a trail to Grass Point State park from our campground. \240Grass Point State park had a nice beach along the St Lawrence river. \240Chrome got to get his feet wet which he likes. I have to say Thousand Island,NY has some beautiful and clean state parks.

Bill and Cheryl are staying down the road in a cabin at Swan Bay. \240So we headed over after dinner for a drink. \240We then met Karen and Randy. \240I had met Randy before as he did some work in the office I use to work in. \240

August 24 - Randy and Karen have a boat at their campground and invited us to go for a ride. \240It was a beautiful day. \240We went to Singer castle for a tour. \240The castle was beautiful and very interesting. After the tour we went riding around the St Laurence river. \240We could see the Canadian side of the river. \240We ate lunch out on the river. \240The ride around the river was fabulous. What a beautiful place.

That evening we had dinner with Sharon and her daughter at her house in Fisher’s Landing which is right down the street from the campground. It was really nice to talk with her and enjoy a nice meal. There was a beautiful sunset and we saw a ship heading down the river.
